ABOUT MARVIN

Nurture creativity, and it grows.

Reuse. Repurpose. Reimagine. I never dreamed the lessons I learned growing up on a third generation, family-owned farm would somehow find their expression in art.

I was lucky to have parents who encouraged hands-on creativity—whether it was inventing a new piece of farm equipment from spare machine parts or coming up with an impromptu (sometimes inedible) recipe in the kitchen. There was no such thing as a mistake; just the fun of experimenting. Trying out new ideas. Seeing things in a different light.

That’s how I feel about art. The satisfaction of bringing diverse elements together in a new or unexpected way never gets old. Some of my pieces are functional. Some are quirky and eclectic. But they have one thing in common: They’re all born of that same spirit of excitement I felt every time I let my imagination run wild as a kid.
